new art products launching for the holiday season!!!!

Just inked 2 licensing deals with Flycell.com for mobile wall papers feat. Da Holy Rollahz (my character property),

& with Andy Howell, legendary skater/artist, his company, Artsprojekt, now manages a number of my sohnup industries "art products", as well as works by famed artists, Shepard fairey, Kathie Olivas, lil Jon, & other select internationally recognised urban artists, designers & brands.

At my bushwick studio (23 windows studios), sohnup helped facilitate a Recent film shoot & SC1 was a featured artist with artworks prominantly featured in the upcoming docu-drama featuring a prominant teen pop star from Korea. (a free limited edition sticker pack to the lucky person that guesses that teens name correctly!)

We are excited to have an upcoming Feature in "Art Exit" international fine art magazine based in bei-jing & nyc (sorry my spelling sux!).

( ( ( Economic crisis!!!! ) ) )

One of my youth programs just got cut in the south Bronx, (so you know its not all roses!).

I had a contract secured with the citizens advice bureau of the Bronx this fall (with whom I worked with last semester in some very successful programming).

I was teaching 2 days of media literacy instruction through electronic music production/beat making (with generous sponsorship from Ableton in Berlin might I add, thanks guys!!!), & 1 day of urban visual arts creation. On our last day of visual arts (which was 3 weeks deep into the semester), we made our first silkscreen mono prints. Dead before birth.

This was the first program in over 13 years of arts programming with institutions across the country that has ever got cut due to funding.

We need to shift some of the focus of the state of the economy towards what an impact it is having on our youths opportunities.

That contract was for 10 grand (ouch!!!) by the way & was through the DYCD, department of youth & community development.

So much for developing the youths creativity!

If anyone is interested,
Im actually starting a fund raising innitiative called "hip hop(e)" as a call to arms for the community to take back their youths dreams, so we artists/educators can be self-sustainable & non-relient on the government for funding arts programming.

The vision:
I will donate a percentage of all Soh Nup product sales to creating a pool of money to fund workshops in marginalized communities.

I will also set up a donations button on all my web sites/pages to help realize this goal.

If we can raise enough funds, I can present my program as a partner org. & get back into the kids lives. Without relying on finding from outside sources, the sites have the population, there is no reason why programs can't be self funded & sustainable for the benefit of the youths creative development.

More on this innitiative to come.

Lastly in this installation,
Sohnup industries is very pleased to bring onboard the talents of goodfoodproductions www.goodfoodpro.com to help revamp & update the Soh Nup website to maximize the full web potential & truly make it all Soh-Nup!

The flicks are: a nice girl with her very own "kaiju", 1 stencil by a student of mine, & a crop from one of my stencilled-based canvas'...

Now go make some soup!
